A virtuoso on both the baroque and modern cello Tanya Tomkins is equally at home delivering a Bach cello suite to an intimate gathering or anchoring the cello section of the internationally renowned Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra on concert stages around the world.

Tomkins is described by NRC Handelsblad (the Netherlands) as "a cellist with a very special and unusual intensity…" and by the Cleveland Plain Dealer as "a performer who combines an intense dramatic fire with Apollonian poise".

From Spring, 2010 Tomkins will be touring the Bach Suites which she will also be recording in May.
